🚀 Devlog #1 – Launching ImgForge: Your Ultimate Image Converter Tool

Hello creators, artists, developers, and fellow tinkerers!

I'm excited to introduce ImgForge, a lightweight yet powerful image conversion tool built with Python, Pillow, and customtkinter.

🔨 Why I Built ImgForge

As someone who often works with game assets, illustrations, and batch image folders, I got tired of bloated software, limited export options, or online tools that demand internet access. So, I decided to make my own tool: fast, reliable, and portable.

ImgForge was born with three core principles:

1. ⚡ Speed — Batch conversion should be fast and smooth.

2. 🎨 Flexibility — Support for multiple formats and folder/file input.

3. 🌓 User Comfort — A clean UI with light/dark theme support.

🧪 What's in Version 1.0?

• 🖼️ Batch image conversion (JPG, PNG, BMP, TGA, TIFF, WEBP, and more)

• 📁 Input via files or folders (no duplicates!)

• 🧲 Export to multiple formats at once

• 🌓 Light and dark theme toggle

• 🗂️ Save to original folder option

• 📃 Real-time log output

• 💡 Smart mode handling (e.g., RGBA → RGB)

• 💾 Fully offline, no installation, just run the .exe

⚠️ Heads-Up: Antivirus False Positives

Since the app is bundled using PyInstaller and unsigned, a few antivirus engines may flag it as unsafe. It’s a false positive — the file is clean and can be verified on VirusTotal. I’ll look into code signing options in the future.

Here are a few features I’m considering for upcoming updates:

• 📂 Drag-and-drop support

• ⚙️ Format-specific settings (quality, compression, etc.)
